How often should I visit my dentist?

What is the recommended age for my child's first dental visit?
The recommended age is 12 months old or when their first tooth becomes visible, whichever comes first. This may seem early, but it’s important to establish good oral care habits from a young age. During the first visit, the dentist will assess your child’s teeth and gum health and give you advice on how to brush and floss their teeth properly.
What should I do if I have a dental emergency?
If you have a dental emergency, get in touch with West Perth Dental Centre immediately. We will assess the situation and design a treatment plan just for you. If you cannot come in, take over-the-counter medication to alleviate pain or apply a cold compress to reduce swelling until you can see us.
What are the payment options available?
We offer a variety of payment options to suit your needs. We accept all major health funds, including nib and HBF. We also have other payment options, such as Afterpay, humm, Zip, and SuperCare. In addition, we accept the DVA Health Care Card and participate in the Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS). So whether you’re covered by insurance or not, we can help you get the dental care you need.
What dental treatments does my health fund cover?
Different health funds can cover various dental treatments under an extras policy. You may be able to get some form of dental cover, depending on the level of extras cover you have.
- General dentistry usually covers annual checkups, cleanings, fluoride treatment, and minor fillings.
- Major dental covers more complex procedures such as complex fillings, surgical tooth extractions, root canals, crowns, dentures, bridges, gum disease treatment and orthodontics. In some cases, health funds will also cover orthodontics for children.
Do you have HICAPS for health fund claims processing?
At our clinic, we know that your time is valuable. We offer HICAPS for quick and easy health fund claims processing. With HICAPS, you can skip the paperwork and claim your benefits immediately.
Are you open on Saturdays?
We know that finding time for dental appointments during the week can be difficult. That’s why we’re happy to offer Saturday hours from 8:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Whether you’re looking for a routine cleaning or more extensive dental work, we’ll be able to accommodate your schedule.
Do you have free parking?
