How Do the
Health Funds Work?
Different health funds offer different levels of cover for dental treatment. Some health funds will only cover the cost of preventative treatments, while others will also cover the cost of major treatments such as fillings, crowns, and bridges. We recommend that you check your level of cover with your health fund provider before receiving dental treatment.
When you come for your appointment, show your health fund card to our reception staff. Our staff will also be able to check your cover and let you know what treatments are covered by your policy. Once you have had your treatment, our team will process your claim through HICAPS to make it even more convenient.
You will only need to pay the gap amount (the difference between the cost of the treatment and what is covered by your health fund). In some cases, you may even be eligible for a rebate from your health fund, which means you could get your money back!
